Special topic: residential recovery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Centre for Economic Strategy and the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting presented\u00a0<strong>The recovery spending watchdog in April 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We reviewed the most important news from the recovery sector and analyzed public spending on recovery projects over the past month.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The special focus of the event was <strong>residential recovery<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the \u201cRussia Will Pay\u201d project, as of the end of 2023, Russians have caused $58.9 billion in damage to the housing stock. The total number of destroyed or damaged facilities is about 250,000 buildings. To rebuild housing, the Ukrainian government has launched several programmes \u2013 VidnovyDim, eVidnovlennya and others.<\/p>\n<p>At the event, we discussed how housing reconstruction is financed and what the state policy in this area should be. We invited relevant civil society initiatives, government officials and representatives of organisations that support internally displaced people to participate in the discussion.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vng2ac9AQqg?si=abBUPuXGpsewOZKK\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Invited participants:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mykola Boiko<\/strong>, Deputy Head of Kyiv Regional State Administration;<\/li>\n<li><b><strong>Anastasia Burau<\/strong><\/b>, deputy advocacy coordinator at CF \u201cRight to Defense\u201d;<\/li>\n<li><b><strong>Alyona Krytsuk<\/strong><\/b>, Head of the Board and co-founder of the volunteer initiative Brave to Rebuild;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Daria Kosyakova<\/strong>, co-founder of the volunteer initiative \u201cRepair Together\u201d;<\/li>\n<li><b><strong>Denys Sudilkovskyi<\/strong><\/b>, Chief Brand and Business Officer at LUN.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>This release has been developed within the project \u201cThe Recovery Spending Watchdog\u201d, funded by the EU.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>The project is a collaborative effort involving the Centre for Economic Strategy, the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting\u00a0, and Technology for Progress NGO.
