{"id":8455,"date":"2019-06-11T17:28:24","date_gmt":"2019-06-11T14:28:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ces.org.ua\/?p=8455"},"modified":"2019-06-12T17:29:52","modified_gmt":"2019-06-12T14:29:52","slug":"we-are-looking-for-a-junior-economist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ces.org.ua\/en\/we-are-looking-for-a-junior-economist\/","title":{"rendered":"We are looking for a Junior Economist"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We strive to involve our team of qualified experts from&nbsp;<a href=\"\/?cat_ID=197\">studies of various spheres of state policy<\/a>&nbsp;, who can and want to contribute to the advancement of reforms in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Vacancy: J<\/strong><strong>unior Economist<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Description<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Centre for Economic Strategy (CES) is a policy think tank established to support key economic reforms in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are looking for young economists, who are interested in contributing to reforms in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Main responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Data collection and assessment of literature<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Collect and compile data and other information;<\/li><li>Study relevant experiences and compile similar data from other countries;<\/li><li>Assess gaps in data and information availability and propose ways to address such gaps.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Policy analysis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Use economic statistics, national and cross-national data;<\/li><li>Undertake analysis of the impact of economic policies;<\/li><li>Review literature on, and evaluations of, economic policies in the Ukrainian setting;<\/li><li>Identify gaps in policy analysis, and contribute to proposals and analysis to fill those gaps.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Drafting and liaison<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Contribute to publications, reports, and working papers;<\/li><li>Draft notes and briefs for senior officials.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ideal candidate profile<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Discipline, attention to detail, and accuracy with numbers;<\/li><li>Understanding of basic macroeconomics principles;<\/li><li>Ability to work in team;<\/li><li>Excellent knowledge of basic software, such MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint (knowledge of statistical software such as Stata or SPSS would be a plus).;<\/li><li>The candidate will be fluent in Ukrainian, Russian, and English.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Academic background<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>University degree in economics, business administration, or policy analysis.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The position offers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Reasonable compensation package for full time employment<\/li><li>An opportunity to learn new and improve existing skills<\/li><li>An opportunity to meet the top experts, officials and opinion leaders<\/li><li>Wide horizontal cooperation with experts during different projects<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Opportunity to build expert carrier in the field of economic analysis<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you feel that you meet these requirements, please send your resume and cover letters to the following email address:&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:office@ces.org.ua\">office@ces.org.ua<\/a>&nbsp;until June 24th.
