Drones are among the top 10 goods imported to Ukraine

In January 2024, the share of Chinese goods in the structure of imports to Ukraine increased to 21.7%, while in 2023 this figure was 16%. Drones are among the top 10 goods imported to Ukraine.

These conclusions were reached by analysts of the Centre for Economic Strategy (CES) in their monthly economic review for February 2024.

“I would like to note the entry of a new category into the TOP-10 [of imported goods], namely drones, which accounted for 2% of total imports in January. For comparison, last year this figure was only 0.7%,” said Volodymyr Landa, CES Senior Economist, during the presentation of the review.

The expert noted the further growth of China’s share in imports of this type of product, which last year was 86%, and in January 2024 reached 97%. At the same time, according to Landa, drones account for about 9% of imports from China, which exceeds even such traditional categories as mobile phones (7%) and cars (6%).
