Ukraine’s budget resilience over three years: role of international support
The Centre for Economic Strategy (CES), in partnership with the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IfW Kiel), invites you to an expert discussion on the state and sustainability of Ukraine’s public finances.
The Kiel Institute is renowned for its in-depth tracking and analysis of international aid to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war. According to their estimates, over the past three years, approximately EUR 267 billion in aid has been allocated to Ukraine—around EUR 130 billion in military assistance, EUR 118 billion in financial support, and the remainder in humanitarian aid.
While military assistance has gone directly to Ukraine’s defense forces, financial aid has enabled the government to fund essential social spending, freeing up domestic revenues to focus on military needs.
At this event, CES experts will present an overview of Ukraine’s fiscal landscape over the past three years. Representatives from the Kiel Institute will also deliver a presentation on the structure of international aid and how foreign support has evolved over this period.
Join us on April 16 at 12:00 (Kyiv time)/11:00 (CET) via Zoom.
