How local activists monitor the reconstruction of Ukraine: Irpin and Chernihiv

For a year now, project experts have been checking reconstruction spending and procurement in this area on a monthly basis. In addition, they are implementing the “Reconstruction Monitoring” grant program, involving civil society organizations to review actual sites.

At the event, program participants presented examples of monitoring and shared the challenges they faced at reconstruction sites. Together with government representatives and experts, we also discussed whether the Build Back Better standards are being adhered to in the country’s reconstruction and how this principle is being practically implemented.

  • Kostiantyn Filonych, Deputy Head of the Department for Territorial Recovery and Creation of Barrier-Free Living Environment, Department of Spatial Planning and Architecture, Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine;
  • Оleksandra Khomyk, Deputy Director at Department of Economics Development of Regional State Administration;
  • Myroslava Negoda, Chief Specialist of the Department for Territorial Recovery and Creation of Barrier-Free Living Environment, Department of Spatial Planning and Architecture, Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
