Frozen Russian assets: how to confiscate in favor of Ukraine

The Centre for Economic Strategy (CES), in collaboration with the International Centre for Ukrainian Victory (ICUV) and KI Insights, invites you to join the online discussion “Frozen Russian assets: how to confiscate in favor of Ukraine”.

The confiscation of Russian assets in 2024 is becoming an increasingly realistic prospect for Ukraine. The transfer of even a portion of Russia’s $300 billion in assets to Ukraine would help cover budgetary needs for 2025 and beyond.

At the G7 meeting, to be held from June 13-15, allies are expected to decide on further actions — or, conversely, to refrain.

Together with government officials and experts, we will discuss what the G7 position means for Ukraine and the fate of frozen Russian assets.

Invited speakers:

  • Mykola Yurlov, Deputy Director, International Cooperation and Representation Department, Ministry of Justice of Ukraine
  • Addar Levi, Principal Deputy General Counsel at U.S. Department of the Treasury;
  • Andrii Mikheiev. International Law and Anti-Corruption Expert, expert at the International Centre for Ukrainian Victory.
  • Vladyslav Rashkovan, Alternate Executive Director for Ukraine at the International Monetary Fund.
  • Roman Sulzhyk, financier, member of the Supervisory Board of CES and member of the Supervisory Board of Privatbank (2019-2022);
  • Bohdan Karnaukh, analyst of the organization “Institute of legislative ideas”.
  • Yuliya Ziskina, Senior Legal Fellow of the “Razom for Ukraine”.

Moderator: Maria Repko, Deputy Director of CES.

The event was conducted in English and will be translated into Ukrainian simultaneously.

The event is organized with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation.
