What is happening with the Ukrainian budget? Deficit, partner assistance, budget declaration

18 July 2025

The Centre for Economic Strategy (CES) invites you to join the July review of the Ukrainian economy. The special topic of the event is: «What is happening with the Ukrainian budget? Deficit, partner assistance, budget declaration».

In June, the government proposed increasing the state budget by almost UAH 450 billion, most of which will be allocated to defence. The additional expenditures are planned to be covered through domestic borrowing and revenue overperformance.

At the same time, the government presented the budget declaration for 2026–2028 — a strategic document that sets financial benchmarks for the medium term. Its implementation will largely depend on continued support from international partners and developments on the front line.

The event will take place on July 18, 12:30 (Kyiv time) in Zoom. Registration is required at the bottom of the page.

In addition, CES experts will traditionally review the main changes in the country’s economy over the past month. Previous reports are available on our website, and data visualisation is available in the Ukraine War Economy Tracker.
