“Financial services is the 9th out of 35 negotiated chapters for Ukraine’s accession to the EU. The harmonization of standards and requirements in the financial services sector should facilitate the free movement of capital, which is one of the key principles of the EU internal market. The process of approximation of Ukrainian legislation to the European one will require not only changes in the regulatory environment, but also the introduction of fundamentally new approaches to regulation.
The study focuses on the following questions:
- What is the main difference between European and Ukrainian legislation in the financial services sector?
- What changes to Ukrainian legislation are most urgent and necessary to bring Ukraine closer to the EU?
