The recovery spending watchdog №12. Special topic: restoring educational facilities

The Centre for Economic Strategy and the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting presented The recovery spending watchdog in August 2024.

As of the beginning of August, the number of damaged and destroyed educational institutions exceeded 3,800. It is crucial to restore the population’s access to educational services, especially with the new academic year approaching.

During the event, project experts will present an overview of the reconstruction of damaged and destroyed educational institutions and, as usual, review the most significant changes in the recovery efforts over the past month.

Following this, together with invited guests, we will examine real-life examples of how access to education is being restored for Ukrainians, the approaches of the government and local authorities, and whether Ukraine is ready for the new academic year.

The release was prepared within the framework of the EU-funded project “The recovery spending watchdog”. Previous releases are available here. The project is a joint effort of the Centre for Economic Strategy, the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting, and the NGO “Technologies for Progress”. All project participants are members of the RISE coalition.
