War risk insurance: will it be possible to attract investors?
Ukraine has held its second post-war reconstruction conference, this time in London. During the conference, partners announced financial aid of $60 billion. Besides this, a few other statements were made. Several countries pledged contributions to ensuring military risks in Ukraine.
The government aims to seek help in military risk insurance from abroad. Also, it plans to involve Ukrainian insurance companies in the process.
The involvement of Ukrainian companies in one of the key types of insurance in the post-war country is also supported by experts. “This will significantly increase the absorption capacity of insurance and allow the private insurance market to develop. This is important for further sustained and stable economic growth,” says Maria Repko, deputy director of the Centre for Economic Strategy.
