Drought and war: how this year’s harvest will impact Ukraine’s economy

In 2024, farmers expect to harvest less than a year ago. According to forecasts, the corn harvest will be down by 21%, barley by 15%, wheat and sunflower by 10%. In addition to unfavourable weather, farmers are also facing power cuts, labour shortages and security challenges.

We discussed this with representatives of the government and agribusiness.
