The Chatham House expert John Lough will present a new research paper that examines how Ukraine’s crony capitalist system operates across key sectors of Ukraine’s economy and why despite the deep set of reforms undertaken after 2014, this system has proved so resistant to change and why public institutions continue to serve a narrow set of interests. The analysis considers the steps needed for the transition to a competitive and free economy.
This event will be held in English with simultaneous translation into Ukrainian.
